Diabetes is a common lifestyle related disease present among most of the elderly and middle aged people. Here are some ways we suggest to fight Diabetes. But First, Lets Define Diabetes. What is Diabetes?

Diabetes is A condition that reduces the body’s ability to process blood glucose, otherwise known as blood sugar.

  • Type 1 – This also goes by the name – juvenile diabetes, as it occurs when the body is unable to produce insulin. People who have this kind of diabetes need to depend on artificial insulin for their body to function well. 
  • Type 2 – As against Type I, the body continues to produce insulin – but, it utilises it in a different way, and the cells in the human body do not effectively respond to it. This is the commonest diabetes kind and is known to be linked with obesity. 

Ways to Fight Diabetes

Including the Right Food in Your Diet:

Including Bitter Gourd, Gooseberry, Vitamin C enriched foods, Natural Sweeteners like Honey, Dates, Pulses in your diet daily can help fight diabetes effectively and even enable in warding it off.

Drink Sufficient Water:

A lot of studies say that drinking water helps control the blood sugar levels. Moreover, enough water intake will prevent dehydration and support kidneys to flush out the toxins. Regular intake of water re-hydrates the blood, which lowers your blood sugar levels and further reduces the risk of having diabetes. However, opt for water and drinks that are calorie-free.

Reduce Your Stress Levels:

Don’t get stressed too often if you are a diabetic. For It could only worsen the body situation. Stress may affect your blood sugar levels. When we are under stress, hormones like glucagon and cortisol are secreted, which, in return, spike up our blood sugar levels. Experts suggest the best way to manage stress is to exercise or meditate regularly. By doing this, you may see some significant changes in your mental and physical health. It ultimately controls your diabetes.

Exercise and Meditate Regularly:

Do a Lot of Physical Activities. Join a Yoga Class. Meditate Regularly. Keeping Your Body active could do wonders for your body if you are suffering from a lifestyle related disease like diabetes. This is one of the best ways to fight diabetes. Take a Long Walk. Enjoy Nature. Do Power Yoga at-least an hour every day. These could bring significant positive changes in your body.

Have a Sound Sleep:

It is very important to have at least 8 hours of sleep. It promotes good mental as well as physical health. If your sleeping habits are not proper, then it may affect your blood sugar levels and insulin sensitivity, which is a root cause of weight gain. Maintaining good sleeping habit will help maintain blood sugar levels and manage a healthy weight.
